Wolves All-Star Defenseman Set to Join Hawks Next Fall

LACONIA, NH -- Nick Theodos, a defenseman for the New England Wolves, has committed to Saint Anselm College for the fall of 2024.

The '03 native of Tewksbury, MA chose the Wolves for what will end up being his first and only season of junior hockey. To date this year, Theodos has notched an even seven points in seven games, having scored three goals to go along with four assists.

“Nick is a player that I am really excited to have on our team this year," said Wolves head coach Tim Kunes. "I expect him to continue to be a key guy for us, as he has quickly established himself amongst the top defensemen in the league. I know we’ll have him ready for St. Anselm’s next fall.”

As Kunes mentioned, Theodos has already turned heads across the league, and look no further for proof than his selection to next week's North/East All-Star Team that will take on Rivier University on Tuesday and Southern New Hampshire University on Wednesday. Theodos is looking forward to representing the league next week and also is beyond grateful to have the weight of his NCAA Commitment off of his shoulders very early on.

"I'm proud to announce my commitment to play college hockey at Saint Anselm," said Theodos. "I would like to thank my family, coaches, and friends who have helped me along the way. I also look forward to continuing my development throughout the rest of the season in the EHL."

Theodos is the latest player from the EHL to choose the Hawks, an NCAA program that has always heavily recruited players from the league. Larry Rocha is the head coach of the program, and he's glad to have locked up a player whom he has had an eye on for a very long time.

"He is a player that really wanted to attend Saint Anselm College this year and play for us in 2023-24," said Rocha. "I basically told him we really do not have the room for him in the 2023-24 recruiting class, but if he played a year of juniors, I would commit to him for 2024-25. He asked me about the Wolves, and I told that they do a great job of developing their players up in Laconia. Also, being right here in New Hampshire, I will get to watch him in action all season long."
