EHL Drops Expanded Schedule, Unveils Dynamic Opening Day Coverage, Crossover Series, and EHLP Prospects' Cup
HAVERHILL, MA -- The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) are pleased to release the 2025-26 regular season schedules for each division.
The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) ushers in an exciting new era with an expanded 50-game slate, and is set to provide unprecedented coverage and innovative new competitions.
The puck officially drops on Thursday, September 25th, a historic opening day where all 18 EHL teams will be in action. To capture every thrilling moment, the EHL is debuting "Rink Rush Live," hosted by The Dan K Show. This groundbreaking broadcast will provide start-to-finish coverage, jumping live from game to game to deliver goals and major highlights as they happen across the league on opening day.
The Annual EHL All-Star College Series, the league's flagship event, is once again slated for mid to late October, promising an unparalleled showcase of top EHL talent. This highly anticipated series is specifically designed to put the league's best players directly in front of NCAA college hockey coaches and scouts, maximizing their opportunities for advancement. This year's matchups feature the Mid-Atlantic team challenging Lebanon Valley College and Stevenson University. Meanwhile, the Northeast team will go head-to-head with Roger Williams University and Nichols College. Capping off the series, the Main All-Star team will face off against Manhattanville College and Albertus Magnus College, with the later taking place on the campus of Quinnipiac University.
Further enhancing the competitive landscape, the EHL will introduce two significant new initiatives: the EHL Crossover Series and the EHL Premier's inaugural Prospects' Cup.
The EHL Crossover Series will feature select teams traveling across conferences for regular season matchups outside of traditional showcase events, fostering new rivalries and diverse competition. A marquee event within this series will be a highly anticipated rematch of last season's EHL Frozen Finals between the New Jersey 87's and the New Hampshire Avalanche on November 23rd at the Ice Den in Hooksett, NH. This showdown promises to be a thrilling early-season clash between two of the league's powerhouses.
For the EHL Premier, the Prospects' Cup will debut as a new tournament played during the EHL Mid-Season Snowdown Showcase in December. Six teams have committed to participate, offering an additional high-visibility platform for players to impress scouts and continue their development.
The league schedule will break for Thanksgiving, observed from November 26th through December 2nd, and a Holiday Break from December 21st through January 2nd.
EHL Commissioner Neil Ravin shared his excitement for the upcoming season, saying "The day we release the schedule is always an exciting day for both divisions. It's the official sign that a new season is on the horizon, as our teams continue to recruit and prepare for the upcoming. While the off-season brings the warm weather and a chance for our teams to decompress, it also brings with it the opportunity to continue to develop and put in the work for what lies ahead; and what lies ahead this year is another chance for all of our players to Develop, Promote, and Advance through our system, like we've proven to do for nearly 2000 NCAA players dating back to the formation of the league. I can't wait to drop the puck on another season, as Thursday, September 25th truly can't come soon enough."
