The New England Wolves are pleased to announce Alumni Jack Musil has signed a pro contract with Glasgow's Braehead Clan in the EIHL (the top pro league in Britain).
Jack spent the 2013-14 season with the New England Wolves before embarking on an NCAA career with the University of Maine (2014-15 & 2015-16) and Endicott College (2016-17 & 2017-18). The 2018-19 season will be Jack's first pro opportunity and it will be in his native UK.
“I am delighted to add British forward Jack Musil to our roster for the season ahead” commented Clan head coach Pete Russell. “Jack is a big body, smooth skater, good skills and has a strong hockey IQ. He is very patient on the puck and brings others into the game. Jack has bags of talent and a strong work ethic.
Russell continued, “During the past 8 years, Jack has developed on and off the ice in North America. After finishing his NCAA career he is now ready to move into starting his professional career. He can beat you in so many ways with a variety of creative moves at different speeds. He is a very clever player. Jack is a player who’s situation I have been monitoring for a while after having him on the Great Britain u20’s National Team a few years back. He made a really positive impression on me.”
Musil is from Beverley, England and recorded 101pts for the Wolves in 54 games in the 2013-14 season. He played under former Wolves coach and current Cushing Academy Head Coach Steve Jacobs, "Jack's story is definitely unique being from England... He attended Ontario Hockey Academy and then junior hockey for the last couple years. He was under the radar so to speak when we saw him playing for a junior team in Florida." Jacobs said.
The Wolves organization is extremely proud of what Jack has accomplished and wish him well as he embarks on the next chapter in his hockey career. Musil commented, "Its good hockey and should be a good experience." GO WOLVES!!
