Collaborating with Laconia HS National Honor Society

Laconia, NH.  April 3, 2018

The New England Wolves, in collaboration with the National Honor Society at Laconia HS, has announced an addition to their daily schedule for the 2018-19 season.

Utilizing the quiet space of the Wolves Video Room, and retro-fitting it to add tables and chairs, the Wolves will implement twice weekly dedicated study time for all their High School Full Season Players.  These hours (Monday and Wednesday at 3pm) will feature guest "teachers" from Laconia High School's National Honor Society program, who can assist, observe, and tutor our athletes who are struggling with their course- work.

The Social Studies Department Chair at LHS, Rick Crockford, also Chairs the National Honor Society program.  Jill Baron Trimble, the Digital Arts Teacher at LHS, first came up with this idea when she brought on some top students at LHS this winter to tutor some of the younger players within the Wolves organization.  Expanding it and making it part of the 2018-19 schedule is only a natural fit to enhance the experience of those players within the Wolves Program.

"The extra instruction time and instructors will be available for all players within the organization including our PG players who take classes at LRCC." commented Wolves GM Andrew Trimble.  "They will be mandatory for our underclassmen, as we continue to tweek and improve our "Den of Development Model."

Dave Pollak, the Wolves Academic Advisor and "Peak Performance Counselor" will return, and assist with players online schooling platforms.  Moreover, his Friday "Peak Performance Counseling" sessions will advance the Wolves Off the Ice, by focusing on Goal Setting, Mental Preparation, Team Building, and much more.
