Win moves team closer to playoff berth

Laconia, NH-   The Wolves took to home ice for a criticial Northern Conference matchup on Saturday night at 630pm and responded with an inspired effort, defeating rival Valley JR Warriors 7-5.  Both teams entered the contest separated by only 1 point in the Northern Conference standings.

"Our team became healthy this week after battling the flu last week, and each individual knew what was at stake." commented GM/ Head Coach Andrew Trimble  "It was a consistent, diligent effort."

Scorers included Matt Needleman, Anthony Thurston, Adam Barnes, Declan House, and 2 by Zander Allen.  The Wolves power play was deadly, converting 3 of 4 chances.  The game winning goal was scored by defenseman Nick Cramer, who gathered a puck in his own zone and capitalized on a line change by the Warriors.  Entering the offensive zone, he ripped a puck into the back of the net to break the 5-5 stalemate.  The 7-5 win brought the Wolves closer to their first playoff berth since the EHL team moved to Laconia.

The Wolves return to action for their final 3 games of the season this week, hosting the NH Avalanche, before traveling to the East Coast Wizards in Bedford, MA.  On March 3rd at 530pm they will host the East Coast Wizards in the Wolves Annual JBT Benefit Game, raising money for the Curse Starts Now foundation. "The JBT Game is a highlight of our season, and thus far we are off to our best fundraising start yet!" Trimble said.
