Wolves host East Coast Wizards in Laconia

Maria Mayne benefit game date set- Saturday, February  17, 2018

Laconia, NH-  The New England Wolves and Pick- Fit gym are pleased to announce a benefit game for Maria Mayne on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 630pm.  Game will be held at the Merrill Fay Arena (468 Province Road, Laconia, NH).  The Wolves will be playing an official Eastern Hockey League (EHL) Northern Conference matchup against the East Coast Wizards of Bedford, MA.

Maria Mayne is a client and friend of Pick- Fit gym, the New England Wolves workout and training facility on Province Road in Laconia.  She is a 23 year old New Hampshire woman battling her second round of leukemia.  She is currently recovering from a bone marrow transplant that took place on December 21, 2017.  “Maria is an energetic, adventurous 23 year old who is battling her second bout of cancer after being in remission for 13 years. Thankfully the transplant went well, however Maria has a ways to go and is still unable to work.” said Angela Pickowicz, owner of Pick- Fit Gym.

Donations will be accepted in the lobby.  Maria’s brother will be in attendance and will address the crowd during the 1st intermission.  In addition to donations, the Wolves will be selling autographed player pictures in the lobby the night of the event.  100% of the sales of the pictures will be donated to the family of Maria Mayne.

The Wolves are currently tied for a playoff spot in the Northern Conference of the EHL, after finishing last in the league (EHL top division) a year ago.  Their win total is currently the most wins ever recorded at the EHL (top division level) in the New England Wolves brief history.  “ We heard of Maria’s story through Angela and we wanted to help as an organization in any way we could.  This is a small way for us to give back.” said Wolves GM/ Head Coach Andrew Trimble
