Wolves display resiliency

Philadelphia, PA. January 14, 2018. The Wolves Junior Teams both traveled to Philadelphia on Saturday morning to take on the outstanding Little Flyers and JR Flyers programs for a weekend full of games.

The EHL team won both games, against the Little Flyers and JR Flyers, taking 4 out of a possible 4 points.  Both games were decided in extra time.  Saturday’s Little Flyers game was won in OT 3-2, on a line rush goal by Aleck Forcier.  Sunday’s game against the JR Flyers was a similar affair.  Trailing 2-0 with less than 10 minutes remaining, the Wolves stormed back, tying the game at 2-2 during regulation.  A scoreless OT followed, until DJ Schwenke and Andre Gulbrandsen scored in the shootout and Goalie Owen Zdunski didn’t allow a goal in the shootout. “Total team effort.  Team showed competitive resiliency.” Said Wolves GM/ Head Coach Andrew Trimble

The younger Wolves EHLP team, after a setback to the Little Flyers on Saturday, turned in a great performance on Sunday versus the JR Flyers EHLP.  JR Flyers EHLP has only 2 losses on the season entering game.  Bryce Ricker recorded a hat trick in the 6-5 shootout victory, as Hunter Koch was solid in nets and Nathan Trull scored twice in the shootout. “Very proud of the effort.” Said Wolves EHLP Coach Tim Kunes.

The Wolves program returns to action next weekend back in Philly at the EHL’s heavily scouted January Showcase.  For more info- www.americanhockeyinstitute.com
