Walpole, MA.  October 14, 2017-  The New England Wolves EHL Junior Hockey team, playing against Southern Conference League opponents at the first Showcase of the Eastern Hockey League season, recorded a resounding 5-2 victory over the 2016-17 EHL Champion, the Philadelphia JR Flyers on Friday evening.

The Wolves got on the scoresheet early when 2000 Birth Year Centerman, Quinn Fahey, intercepted a puck in the Nuetral zone and scored a mere 9 seconds into the contest.  The Wolves would be bolstered all night by contributions from some of the youngest players on their roster including, Breck Crawford (2000 Birth Year- 1 assist), Andre Gulbrandsen (1999 Birth Year- 1 goal), Adam Barnes (1999 Birth Year- 2 assists), and the league’s youngest player, Declan House (2001 Birth Year- 1 assist).

The Wolves would build up a 4-1 lead before Philly would make it interesting.  Trading goals in the 2nd half of the game, the Wolves netminder, Chris Mattone, would be forced to make critical saves to preserve the win.  When the horn sounded, the Wolves came out victorious with a 5-2 Win, iced on a goal by Anthony Thurston of Rochester, NY.

The EHL Showcase in total would have 55 NCAA, JR and Pro Scouts in attendance.  For more information check out www.americanhockeyinstitute.com
