September 2, 2017.  Laconia, NH.  In what has become a 3- year tradition, the New England Wolves EHL Junior Teams experienced first-hand what it means to be a US Marine.  On Saturday morning, September 2nd, the New England Wolves were taken through a seminar covering the 14 points of Marine Leadership, and then through a relay-style fitness challenge.

4 members of the US Marine Corp outfit from Dover, NH drove 75 minutes north to Laconia to provide the Wolves with a direct understanding of the Marine code and work ethic.  “Coach Mike Potenza has organized this event for the last 2 years, and utilized it with his athletes over at Kingswood HS in Wolfeboro.” Said Wolves GM/ Head Coach Andrew Trimble.  “It provides our athletes with a great understanding of what it takes a be a Marine, of leadership, and our players have to rely on each other to complete their tasks.”

The 4-point challenge consisted of an obstacle course, pullups, Big Rig Tire flips, and an artillery canister sprint.  “The boys showed a great work ethic and a true respect for these men.” Trimble commented.  “We were honored to have the Marines work with our young men, and can’t Thank them enough.”

The Wolves continue their Training Camp this week in anticipation of their first games, Sept. 16th (away at 8pm) vs the NH Avalanche for the EHL team, and Sept. 22 (at home, 430pm) vs the Walpole Express for the EHLP team.  For more info visit- www.americanhockeyinstitute.com
