Pittsburgh, PA -  Duquesne Hockey Head Coach Conrad Waite has announced the commitment of the another member of the 2017-18 recruiting class, Mack Geissler. Geissler, a 6'4" Defensemen for the EHL u19 Elite New England Wolves, played 38 games and scored 1 goal along with 6 assists for the Wolves.

"Mack's a big kid. But one of the first things I noticed is how well he moves on the ice." Waite said "You have to be smart and excellent positionally to play at that size, and he definitely fits both of those well."

Geissler was one of the first players to commit to the Dukes, choosing Duquesne over other schools because of its campus and the previous success of the ACHA hockey program. He describes himself as a student of the game, and someone that is always looking for way to improve his performance and his skills. He plans on majoring in Supply Chain Management while at Duquesne.

"We're looking forward to getting Mack on the ice this year, I could see right from the start that he had the qualities to be a leader for us, even in his first couple of years, and with the players we lost, that's going to be big." Waite said.

The Dukes graduated their top 3 defensemen this season, all of whom were team Captain's as Seniors.

Why did you choose Duquesne?

I chose Duquesne because, from my reviews of this college, its a perfect fit for me as the campus is not overwhelming in size. I've come from a private catholic high school and I thought this college would feel familiar in that regard. The next big reason is they have a great ACHA hockey program and I was hoping to become a part of that for my college career.

What are your goals for your college career?

My future goals are to be a solid student at Duquesne and to transition that mind set to the ice for the future. I plan on being a leader for my teammates and for Duquesne Hockey.

"Both Dylan and Mack came into our program for 1 year, worked hard, developed and were integral parts of our successful EHL Elite team. Duquesne was the right situation and school for both young men to continue their academic and athletic careers. We wish them continued success!" - Andrew Trimble
