Haakon Hundsnes, the 5’8” 185lb forward from Stavanger, Norway has committed to Worcester State University for the 2017-2018 season! Haakon registered 4 goals and 11 assists for 15 points in his 24 games played.

Worcester State University is located in the residential northwestern side of Worcester, which is the second largest city in Massachusetts and home to 11 other colleges and universities. Worcester State is the only Massachusetts state university to earn a “Best in the Northeast” ranking from The Princeton Review 13 years in a row. One of many accolades they have earned for both their excellence in academics and engagement within their community. Their Men’s Ice Hockey Program competes at the NCAA Division III level in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.

“Haakon came to us late in the season and he improved our team immediately. He can play in all situations and he will have no trouble adjusting to the college pace.” - Head Coach Brett Tryder

“Haakon is a great competitor and rugged two-way player.  He plays with energy and passion and is as determined a player as you will see.  He is a smart, instinctive player who plays a balanced game.  We are happy for Haakon to achieve his dream of playing college hockey after taking a chance coming to the USA to play in the EHL.  We all feel he will make an immediate impact at Worcester State.” - GM Steve Jacobs
