CORTLAND, N.Y. -- Two Fredonia Blue Devils have been named to the 2017 SUNYAC Men's Ice Hockey All-Conference Team.

A vote of conference coaches landed junior center Samuel Wilbur (Saginaw, Mich.) and sophomore goaltender Eric Bogart (London, Ont.) a place on the Third Team.

In their recently completed season, Wilbur and Bogart were integral in leading the Blue Devils to a 13-11-2 season and a spot in the SUNYAC Tournament for the first time in four years. They were ousted 2-1 Wednesday by nationally ranked Buffalo State in a first-round game.

Wilbur led the team in scoring with 34 points, the most by a Fredonia player in five seasons His 14 goals and 20 assists led the team in both categories. He also was the team leader with three game-winning goals and was second with four power-play goals. Against SUNYAC opponents only, Wilbur had 8 goals and 11 assists and two game-winners. In two seasons at Fredonia, he has 22 goals and 29 assists for 51 points in 50 games -- most among non-seniors.

Bogart posted a 9-8-1 record with one shutout, his first as a collegian, and a 2.63 goals against average this season. He set two school records in the process. He made 621 saves -- ninth most by a Blue Devil -- in 19 games, an average of a school-record 32.68 per game. He also posted a school-record best 92.8 percent save percentage in 2016-17. Bogart has two-year totals of 14-15-1 with a 2.88 goals against average and a 92.3 save percentage in 31 games. He was 7-6-1 with a 2.77 goals-against average in SUNYAC games this season.

"I am happy for both Eric and Sam," Head Coach Jeff Meredith said, "that they were recognized by the SUNYAC ice hockey coaches as all-conference selections. It is a tribute to all the hard work that they have put in and to their teammates who work beside them every day."
