Wolves JR Program records remarkable weekend

Laconia, NH 11/13/2016-  The New England Wolves JR hockey program based out of the Merrill Fay Arena recorded a remarkable weekend both on and off the ice.

The EHL U19 Elite team went undefeated (3wins and 0 Loss) in 3 home games and the U20 Premier team beat the Philadelphia JR Flyers on Saturday night at home.  Additionally, the Wolves volunteered in helping with the Lakes Region Lakers “Learn to Skate” Program on Sunday morning and Rochester Youth Hockey on Tuesday night.

Starting their week, the U19 Elite team defeated the Northern Cyclones on Wednesday 6-2.  Fedor Lopaev (Moscow, Russia) recorded 4 points and Josh George (Chandler, AZ) stopped 32 shots on net. “The team met with the Gagnon Family on Monday and we played this game for Max Gagnon a local boy who is battling through Leukemia treatments.  He had a big treatment in Boston that day so we wanted to give a great effort for him. “ said Head Coach Andrew Trimble

Following up the Cyclones performance both Wolves teams won at home on Saturday.  U19 defeated New York Applecore 5-2 and the U20 team beat the Philadelphia JR Flyers 3-1.  Battling back from a 1-0 deficit, the U20 team featured some outstanding performances.  Newly acquired Forward Ethan Homitz (Allison Park, PA) recorded 2 assists to spark the offense and goaltender Kevin Lacroix (Yarmouthport, MA) stopped 29 of 30 shots.  

On Sunday, the Wolves U19 Elites were back to work at home against the Brewster Bulldogs.  The team struck early and often in posting a 10-4 victory.  Aleck Forcier (Laval, Quebec) and Carl Bear (Gorham, ME) each recorded 4 points on the afternoon.

The Wolves program returns to action at home next weekend.  Saturday the U20 Premier team plays at 630pm versus the Northern Cyclones.  Sunday the U19 Elite team plays at 215pm versus the Vermont Lumberjacks.  Both games are at the Merrill Fay Arena in Laconia.  For more info go to- www.americanhockeyinstitute.com
