Laconia, NH 10/30/2016.  The New England Wolves EHL Elite U19 JR team recorded 5 out of a possible 6 points during the week before Halloween to continue their climb up the EHL Elite division standings.

Starting on Wednesday at home the Wolves recorded a point by taking the New Hampshire JR Monarchs to Overtime, before losing in the 3 on 3 OT format.  The Wolves penalty kill effectively killed off 7 minutes in penalties in the final 10 minutes of the game to force the OT.

Rebounding on Saturday at home, the Wolves faced off against the Hartford JR Wolfpack and won in OT 4-3.  The Wolves proved incredibly resilient in the effort, overcoming 1-0, and 3-2 deficits until Fedor Lopaev (Moscow, Russia) tied the game at 3 with 3:35 to go in the 3rd period.  Facing the 3 on 3 OT again in this contest, the Wolves had several chances before Zach Dezotelle (Swanton, VT) scored the winner on an assist from Berlin, NH’s Nathan Trull.

On short rest, the Wolves travelled down to Haverhill, MA on Sunday for a 2:50pm showdown with the Valley JR Warriors.  The Wolves dominated from the start, as 6 different scorers contributed to the 7-3 victory.  Local product and former Lakes Region Laker, Bryce Ricker (Laconia, NH), always a defensive standout, recorded two goals in the triumph.

“Time and again this team is proving to be tough to play again and resilient.” Said Head Coach Andrew Trimble.

The Wolves return to action on Saturday as both the U19 EHL Elite and U20 EHL Premier play at home at the Merrill Fay Arena versus the Vermont Lumberjacks.  The Elite puck drops at 3:30pm and the Premier at 6:30pm.  For more info go to www.americanhockeyinstitute.com
