A letter from NYU commit Thomas Bradshaw to GM Steve Jacobs, reflecting his time spent with the Wolves Organization.

"Dear Coach Jacobs,

Thank you very much for all your help and kind words you put forward for me.
I received my letter of acceptance from NYU Stern school of business yesterday. I wanted to thank you for all of your help and support along the way. I would not have been able to be in the position I am in without you. It would be my pleasure to write a little paragraph about my time in Hungary.

I moved to Hungary in August of 2015 after playing a year for the New England Wolves as a senior in high school. My year at the New England Wolves prepared me for Hungary both athletically and academically. When I arrived in Hungary I was extremely excited to be integrating myself into my Hungarian culture. I played for the U20 v19 Székesfehérvár team while attending ELTE University, taking math courses in the heart of Budapest, Hungary. My team in Hungary was comprised primary with Hungarians which made learning Hungarian language an essential part of my year. I am now fluent in Hungarian and made great friendships with my fellow Hungarians. Playing for the U20 team was quite different than the Wolves' game in that the league was less physical than the Eastern Hockey League. Also the game is faster with a lot of moving parts. The thing that was the same was the need for teamwork and play in front of the net. For those willing to play the corners and in front of the net, there were good opportunities to score. Playing for the U20 team was a unique opportunity for me because I got to play in many European countries including Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany, and Italy.

At ELTE University I studied discrete mathematics I-II, formal language, linear algebra, informatics, and Hungarian language. I enjoyed all of my courses and met people from all over the world including Syria, Nigeria, and Thailand. The overall experience of living in my mother’s homeland and experiencing the Hungarian culture was extremely gratifying.

During my year in Hungary I used a lot of what I learned at the Wolves. Most important for me, my relationship with the Wolves' coaches did not stop after I left the Wolves. My coaches were in contact with me as I applied to colleges. Although it was difficult to play for the Wolves as a high school senior, the support I enjoyed during and after the Wolves experience was unparalleled and I would do it again.

I am very grateful to the coaching staff and management at the New England Wolves for preparing me and helping me along the road into my college career.

Thank you so much for all of your help and support. I would love to sit down and catch up if you are ever in New York. I would be happy to show you around the campus.

Kindest regards,

Tommy Bradshaw"
