Wolves Premier defenseman Camden Armstrong has chosen University of Arizona Wildcats to play his college hockey.  The 6’4” 210 lb. native of Newburyport Mass. is a physical “shut down” defender who also contributes at the offensive end.  “Cam is a reliable, smart dman who plays with great intensity. He is especially strong below the goal line and punishing the corners,” said Coach Steve Jacobs.  “Choosing Arizona is just another sign of Cam’s intelligence, character and life goals.  He had opportunities to play at many D3 NCAA schools but his desire to earn a business degree at a prestigious university and move on to law school were deciding factors in choosing Arizona.  And of course the outstanding hockey program, devoted fan base and facilities at Arizona were also key ingredients in his decision.”

“Cam is a huge get for us,” said Arizona coach Chad Berman.  He will be a major piece for us moving towards our championship aspirations.  Anytime you are building a championship contending team you want guys who are elite in their role.  Cam knows exactly who he is as a player and takes a lot of pride in what he does.  He will be a guy who can compliment a skilled player on the back end and can be used as a shut down pair to match up against the opponents top lines.  We are very excited to add Cam to the mix,” said Berman.

“Choosing Arizona was an easy decision for me based on the business school, hockey program and weather,” said Armstrong.  “I loved my visit and took notice in how much the Arizona players love the school and playing there. I hope to be an impact player my freshman year and can’t wait for the season to start.

“I would like to thank my family and all my former coaches for their support and help in my pursuit of playing college hockey at a great school,” concluded Armstrong.
