New England Wolves Independent team defenseman Kenny Burkhardt has committed to ACHA powerhouse Bryn Athyn College for the fall of 2016.  The 5’10 195lb. defenseman from Exeter, PA is a strong student who has decided to forego his final year of junior hockey to play at Bryn Athyn and pursue a business law sports management degree.  “Kenny is a physical defenseman who defends well and wins the one on one battles down low”, says Wolves GM Steve Jacobs.  “He has worked hard and shown consistent improvement throughout the year”, said Jacobs. “We all know that the education is the most important piece when deciding on college and Kenny is a bright kid that has made an intelligent choice to combine a great education with his hockey passion”, said Jacobs.  “Burkey is without a doubt our most improved player this season”, offered Independent Team Coach Mykul Haun.  “His work ethic, perseverance and character allowed him to become a great leader for our team.  I look forward to watching him play college hockey”, Haun concluded.

Burkhardt is excited about playing at such a prestigious school that plays a strong schedule, including NCAA D3 schools, and consistently qualifies for nationals.  “I would like to thank my parents and family for giving me the opportunity to play hockey since I was 10, driving me to the rink for every game and practice, including the last two years driving me to New Jersey three time a week before coming to play for the Wolves”, said Burkhardt.  Finally I would like to thank the New England Wolves for helping me achieve my lifelong dream of playing college hockey”.
