New England Wolves pay visit to Laconia Head Start Program

Laconia, March 3, 2016 — The New England Wolves EHL Elite team recently visited the Laconia Head Start Program on February 16. The players, dressed in their uniforms, read “Champ on Ice” and then answered questions asked by the children and staff about what it is like to play Junior Hockey and the sport of hockey. The players let the children try on their gloves and helmets, as well as play with the hockey sticks. 

Emily Clement from Laconia, coordinated the visit as part of the Laconia Head Start Community Readers program. Emily is also a host parent to a few players on the Wolves’ team. 

The Wolves’ play in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) which is made up of 16-21 year olds from all over the World playing against teams all over the east coast. The Wolves’ Elite team consisted of two players from Moscow, Russia as well as 16 others from Montana, California, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New England Region. With players from all over the world, the Wolves’ look for host families to live with during the season.
