Laconia, February 14, 2016-   The New England Wolves EHL Elite JR hockey team recorded a thrilling come from behind victory on home ice vs the Boston Bandits of Bridgewater, MA on Saturday night.

Resiliency has become the key word for this Elite club, as they continued to show consistent resolve through adversity.  “The game was a committed, team effort.  We responded to any obstacle that was in front of us.”  Said Head Coach Andrew Trimble.

The Wolves carried a 3-2 lead deep into the third period based on a goal each from Zander Allen (Rochester, NH), Ryan Padden (Fort, Peck, MT) and Dillon Smith (Madison, NH). The Bandits, however, would find an answer to Wolves netminder Noah Stock with less than 3 minutes to go.  Boston scored twice in under a minute, to take the lead, until Dillon Smith answered with less than 1 minute remaining on a great stretch pass from Shawn Sullivan, popping the water bottle off the top of the net.  A Matt Maple penalty with 15 seconds remaining in the game would mean the Wolves would be playing 4  versus 3 to start the overtime.  A miraculous kill, led by Defensemen Will Francis and Mikhail Koval, kept the back of the Wolves net empty.  At the 2:58 mark of OT Zander Allen sent a beautiful cross ice pass to Maple, who was just released from the penalty box, and he scored the winner. Noah Stock made 45 saves in the effort.

The Wolves return to action next weekend with 2 games, both on the road.  For more information go to- www.americanhockeyinstitute.com .
