Laconia, January 31, 2016-   The New England Wolves EHL Elite JR hockey team recorded a thrilling 8-6 victory at home on Sunday afternoon versus the Vermont Lumberjacks of Burlington, VT.

6 different Wolve’s scored in what was a seesaw affair that saw 5 different lead changes.  Danny Ryan of Savannah, Georgia scored twice along with Wolve’s Co- Captain Dillon Smith who also potted 2 goals.  Each recorded an even strength and a shorthanded goal.  The game was knotted at 5-5, until Fullerton, CA native Matthew Maple buried his 5th of the year early in the third period on a beautiful shot that was partially screened by a Vermont defender.  Brian Thomas (1999 birth year netminder from White Lake, MI) was solid in nets with 46 saves.

The afternoon was highlighted by the presence of the family of John Bradley Thompson.  “We have dedicated our season to JBT, and this game took extra special significance to the team, because we were playing in front of his family, on a day to raise awareness and contributions to the Cure Starts Now charity.”  Said Head Coach Andrew Trimble.  Several hundred fans were in attendance, and the Cure Starts Now received thousands of dollars in donations.  During the 2nd period intermission Jesse Thompson addressed the crowd, and NH Senator Andrew Hosmer presented Thompson with a $1000.00 donation.  “It was a great afternoon, and it really impacted these kids.” Commented Trimble.

The Wolves return to action next weekend with 2 games on the road in Hudson, NH and Hooksett, NH.  Wolve’s management would like to thank all the help they received from the Thompson Family (specifically Abby, Alison and Jesse), the Laconia Ice Arena rink staff, Emily Clement, Dave Pollack, Zach Horne, and the Wolves videographer Dejean, for helping with the operation of the JBT game.  For more information go to- www.americanhockeyinstitute.com .    For more info on DIPG and John Bradley Thompson go to-  http://thinkjohnbradley.com
