Laconia, January 17, 2016-   The New England Wolves EHL Elite JR hockey team recorded a dramatic 4-3 overtime victory at home on Sunday afternoon versus the Boston JR Rangers of Tewksbury, MA.  Boston possesses the best winning percentage in the league and was previously unbeaten in 6 games.

3 different players scored, but special recognition goes to Laconia’s own Bryce Ricker.   Ricker potted both the game tying goal (with less than 90 seconds remaining) and the overtime winner, on a beautiful cross ice pass from Wolves standout defenseman Shawn Sullivan.  “Bryce is a two year player for our program and has come a long way.” Assistant Coach Mike Potenza commented.  “Bryce is just tapping into his potential as his speed, shot and now his two- way play are becoming a force on the ice for this team.”

The game started poorly for the Wolves as only 15 minutes into the game the home team was facing a 3-0 deficit. Noah Stock battled back from his slow start to record 56 saves on the afternoon, many in theatrical fashion.  “Two things really helped us today in my opinion.” Said Head Coach Andrew Trimble.  “One was the presence of all our Lakes Region Lakers mites (who participated in the Mites on Ice Game at the first intermission) and the leaders we have on our roster.  They have seen adversity before and are battle tested.  This group really refused to lose.”

Skating during the Mites on Ice intermission game are the following Lakes Region Lakers players; Asher Svindland, Logan Bialecki, Christian Cellupica, Rock Londer, Mariam Rabuck, Colton Byars, Alex Rowley, Christian Danforth. Gavin Marchand- Correia, Landon Hallberg, and brothers Ethan and Ben Girard.  A special thank you goes to all the Mite coaches who helped with putting this game together.

The Wolves return to action next weekend with 2 games on the road in Burlington, VT versus the Vermont Lumberjacks.  The Wolves next home game is the John Bradley Thompson benefit game at home on January 31st at 2:15pm.   For more information go to- www.americanhockeyinstitute.com .    For more info on DIPG and John Bradley Thompson go to-  http://thinkjohnbradley.com
