Laconia, January 9, 2016-   The New England Wolves EHL Elite JR hockey team recorded a decisive 6-3 victory on Saturday night versus the Northern Cyclones of Hudson, NH.

A total team effort accomplished the victory, as 5 different players scored.  Pacing the scoring were some of the leagues youngest players, highlighted by 2 goals by Zach Dezotelle (Swanton, VT) and 2 assists by Bryce Ricker (Laconia, NH).  Both Zach Allard (Manchester, NH) and Tim Atkins (Greenfield, MA) each chipped in a goal and 2 assists.  Noah Stock was solid nets with 35 saves.   “Saturday we had a balanced attack, and recorded our highest shot total on the season.” Said Wolves Head Coach Andrew Trimble.

On Sunday, the Wolves traveled to Hooksett to take on league leading NH JR Monarchs.  A roller coaster affair, the Wolves battled to a 5-3 lead halfway through the third period.  In one of the most resilient efforts on the Wolves season, the game would come down to the final minute and only be decided by a Monarchs empty—netter.  Co- Captains Dillon Smith and Kyle Carignan both recorded 2 goals apiece. Moscow- native Misha Koval was rock solid defensively.

The Wolves are dedicating the 2015-16 season to the memory of John Bradley Thompson, a Gilford Elementary school student who passed away from DIPG, a rare form of Brain Cancer, a little over a year ago.  Each Wolves player has a commemorative “JBT” sticker on the left side of their helmet as a reminder of the courage, spirit, and hope of John Bradley.  On January 31st the Wolves will be holding a “JBT Game” as they play their EHL Elite league game versus the Vermont Lumberjacks at the Laconia Ice Arena at 2:15pm.  They will be accepting donations for The Cure Starts Now Foundation during the game and Jesse Thompson, John’s father, will be in attendance.   “It will be a great game and The Cure Starts Now is a tremendous cause.  We hope to have the whole community in attendance.” Trimble commented.

The Wolves return to action next weekend with 2 home games.  Saturday versus the Walpole Express at 7pm, and Sunday versus the Boston JR Rangers at 2:15pm.   For more information go to- www.americanhockeyinstitute.com .    For more info on DIPG and John Bradley Thompson go to-  http://thinkjohnbradley.com
