Waterville Valley, October 25, 2015- The EHL Premier team that has been depleted with 8 or 9 regulars out of the lineup with injuries since a game 1 win got back on the winning track Friday night in Waterville Valley with a solid 6-2 victory over the East Coast Wizards.  The clubs refusal to use the injury excuse despite playing with 5 regular defensemen and 3 top forwards still out of the lineup paid off as the Wolves started fast with a goal by Matthew Toombs with assists to Joe Flanagan and Andrew Olevitz just 1:41 into the first.  It was Toombs first goal for the newly added forward in his first shift of the year for the Wolves.  The home team continued to apply pressure that paid off at 8:13 when Trevor Mack fired a hard shot/pass that Zack Sullivan re-directed home for the 2-0 lead.  Ryann Dunn earned the second assist when he intercepted a clearing pass and fed Mack at the right point.  Mack played outstanding, and was a workhorse all weekend as the winger moved back to defense for the first time in his career as one of 4 Wolves defensemen.  Joe Flanagan made it 3-0 on the power play at 13:20 when he drilled home a wrist shot from the slot with assists to Nick Chaoush and Andrew Lee.  The Wizards came out strong in the second applying heavy pressure but being stymied by Wolves goaltender Kurt Gutting time and time again before closing it to 3-1 at 4:11 of the second on the power play when Glenn Wiswell scored his first of a 3 goal weekend.  Andrew Lee answered for the Wolves at 8:33 from Chris Peters and Nick Chaoush when strong forechecking created and slot opportunity that Lee finished. Playing in his first game for the Wolves, newly acquired Justin Munck made 5-1 at the 11 minute mark on a blue line wrister from newcomer Chris Peters and Ryan Tierney (also coming off injury for his first game).  Wiswell scored his second of the game on the power play at 19:28 as the Wizards continued to push back.   The Wolves regained momentum however with a strong 3rd and sealed it on a nifty passing play from Sullivan to Dunn to Alex Sauer who the Wolves welcomed back and was playing his first game since opening night when he scored a big shoot out goal.  Kurt Gutting was the player of the game for the home team stopping 42 of 44 Wizards shots.

On Saturday night in Bedford, MA the Wolves came out on the short end of a 4-0 score despite a strong effort outshooting the Wizards 38-35 and putting up a tremendous effort throughout.  After weathering the storm in the scoreless first period the Wolves pushed back hard but couldn’t get one by the Wizards goaltender. The Wizards proved opportunistic in this one taking the lead at 4:32 when an inadvertent high stick hit a Wolves defenseman who went down and the Wizards finished a nice 2 on 1 play for 1-0 lead.  The Wizards made it 2-0 just 21 seconds later capitalizing on a fortuitous bounce and scoring on a breakaway.  The Wizards scored the backbreaker at 19:39 to make it 3-0, and Connor Demore scored his second goal of the game for the Wizards at 15:11 to seal it for the 4-0 final.
