Laconia, October 16, 2015- The New England Wolves EHL Elite JR hockey recorded a dramatic victory on Saturday night at home versus the Northern Cyclones of Hudson, NH.
The 6-5 overtime victory, before a large crowd at the Laconia Ice Arena, featured a dramatic effort from Rochester, NH native Zander Allen. Trading goals throughout much of the contest, the Wolves and Cyclones ended regulation knotted at 5 goals apiece. Zander Allen figured in all but one of these goals (3 goals and 1 assist), the exception being a solo goal netted by Madison, NH’s Dillon Smith, who returned to the team this week.
Beginning the 3 on 3 overtime with the trio of Zander Allen, Kyle Carignan, and Smith, the Wolves would notch the game winner at the 24 second mark of the overtime period on a goal by Carignan (assisted by both Allen and Smith). Scarborough, ME’s Ben Bragg was solid in nets for the Wolves.
