Laconia, October 13, 2015-   The New England Wolves U16 Split- Season hockey team recorded their first EJEPL league victories of the season this weekend at the Columbus Day Challenge Cup in Newington, Connecticut.  In total the first year expansion team would have a tremendous showing in this EJEPL league event, by winning 3 out of 4 of their games.

Saturday’s first game of the weekend started the program off on the right foot, when the Wolves recorded a 3-1 victory over the Hudson Valley Polar Bears.  Belmont’s Hunter Dupuis starred in the effort.  After a 6-5 setback at the hands of New Jersey based Kinnelon Colts, the team responded on Monday with back to back victories.  First was a 4-1 victory over the Long Island Rebels and lastly to close out the weekend, was an 11-2 victory over the Connecticut Barons.  Zach Dezotelle of Swanton, VT would record 6 points in the victory over the Barons.  Both goaltenders, Oliver Quinn of Loudon, NH and Brian Thomas of White Lake, Michigan, were stellar in nets all weekend.   “As a first year program in a very good EJEPL league, this team is making tremendous strides. Coach Jay Londer is running detailed practices and putting these kids through great workouts.  It’s no surprise that they are turning heads and improving each week.” Said team GM Andrew Trimble.

On the season, local B/G star Harrison Parent is pacing the team in scoring with 10 points in the 6 league games thus far.   The u16 Wolves return to action on Saturday with 2 games in 1 day versus the visiting CT Chiefs.  First puck drop is 1:40pm and the 2nd puck drop is 6pm.  For more information go to- www.americanhockeyinstitute.com
