In an effort to give back to their community, on Sunday, August 17th, members of the New England Wolves MJHL team and staff of the Laconia Ice Arena volunteered for the IRONMAN 70.3 Timberman Triathlon in Gilford, New Hampshire (http://www.ironman.com/triathlon/events/americas/ironman-70.3/timberman.aspx#axzz3BLeo3zGW).
Beginning in 2000, the annual race draws 1,400 competitors, and includes a 26 miles bike ride through Gunstock Mountain, a 1.2 mile swim in beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee and a half-marathon run.  The Timberman has become one of the most popular weekends in beautiful Lakes Region of New Hampshire.
Members of the Wolves were assigned to a water station during the half- marathon portion of the event along Belknap Mountain Road in Gilford.  "Any opportunity that our team has to make an impact on our community, lend a hand, and bring exposure to our program, is a chance for our team to realize this experience about more than just hockey." said Coach Andrew Trimble.  "Special thanks to Tim Muller, Bill Jennison and Chuck Taylor for providing such great leadership!"
In addition, to the Timberman, the MJHL Wolves will also be volunteering throughout the year at local events such as Christmas Village in Laconia, The Gilford Rotary Club and much more.  For info on the team visit- www.americanhockeyinstitute.com
