The Wolves traveled to the Valley Forum Saturday for an afternoon battle with the Valley Junior Warriors coming away with a hard earned 5-3 win.  The win was the Wolves first win in their inaugural season in the Eastern Hockey League.  The Wolves battled back twice from one goal deficits before holding off the Jr Warriors who scored a late 6 on 4 power play goal with the extra attacker on to bring them within one at 17:11 of the third.  Mike Kelleher answered for the Wolves with a high-lite reel goal under a minute later when he stole an errant Warriors clear, faked and drilled one upstairs to account for the 5-3 final.  The Wolves fell behind at 3:10 of the first on the first of three Valley power play goals before Sean O’Brien took a feed from Jarrod Fitzpatrick and drilled home a hard slap shot on the power play to tie it 1-1 at 7:26 of the second.  Brian Cameron also picked up an assist on the play. The Jr Warriors took a 2-1 lead again on the power play at 13:28 as the two teams traded punches in the fast paced physical game, but Nick Marin tied it again with just 22 seconds left in the second.  Marin picked up a loose puck on the mid-wall, walked past the defense before slipping a nifty back hand home short side.  The goal gave the Wolves momentum coming out in the third and they took their first lead and one they that would never surrender when Brian Cameron took a feed from Richie Greenberg and whistled a wrist shot home through a screen to give the visitors the 3-2 lead at 3:29.  The game turned into an end to end battle at this point until Nick Marin blocked a shot and raced down the right side before finding Clay Plyler streaking through the middle.  Player took the perfect feed and fired one home for the big short-handed goal and eventual “game winner” to give his team a 4-2 lead before the Jr Warriors power play goal with the extra attacker on setting the stage for the Kelleher tally that sealed the win.  Eric Bogart was strong in net for the Wolves earning his first win while stopping 29 Valley shots.  Next up for the Wolves are two on the road in New York where they take on the NY Bobcats Saturday at 8 and NY Applecore Sunday morning at 11.
