Wolves Win Two in Lake Placid

The NE Wolves Independent Team continued their strong play and took two games in Lake Placid, over the weekend, beating The National Sports Academy 6-0 and 4-1. The Wolves dominated play all weekend allowing only 12 shots in the first game and 10 shots in the finale.

The Wolves came out strong in the first period, of game one, with goals by Mathieu Dubois, Sam Perreault, and Nick Potvin. The team defense was stingy allowing only three shots. The second period was scoreless as the defense continued to play well allowing just five shots.

Potvin added his second goal of the game on a power play early in the third period and Joe Flanagan and Ryan Chauvin added third period tallies. Charles Jakobsson played well in net as he turned away some quality opportunities by NSA. Matthew Toombs finished with four assists as Potvin finished with two goals and an assist and Dubois ended his day with a goal and three assists.

Game two was a continuation of game one as the Wolves dominated play. Anthony D’alessandro and Ryan Chauvin led the Wolves scoring charge with two goals and two assists each. Jergus Spodniak played well in net turning away all but one shot while leading The Wolves to a 4-1 win.

The Wolves power play was 3 for 5 on the weekend while the penalty kill was 5 for 5.
