The NE Wolves MJHL, battling for 1st place in the tightly contested Francis Division of the MJHL won 3 games over the weekend against Southern Conference Opponents at the Hudson, NH Holiday Showcase.

First came Friday afternoon’s 3-2 victory over the previously 14 win and 3 loss New York Applecore.  Wolves Captain Dillon Smith (Madison, NH) was the star with 2 goals and 1 assist, along with netminder Harley Eliason (Glasgow, MT) who recorded 31 saves in the effort.  The Wolves followed the Friday effort up with another outstanding performance at 8am on Saturday morning against the Brewster Bulldogs.  Eliason provided great goaltending once again, backstopping the Wolves to a 4-2 victory as 4 different players scored, including newcomer Hunter Byram (Coventry, CT).

In one of the strangest games of the season, the Wolves 5-1 triumph over the New Jersey Renegades on Saturday afternoon, was truly a tale of two halves as the Wolves were dominated in the first half and were dominant in the second.  In nets was recently acquired goaltender John Hagan of Mentor, OH, who endeared himself to his new teams by stopping 36 of 37 shots.  5 different scorers scored goals for the Wolves: Phillip Schultz (Lunenberg, MA), Ryan Waddell (Sea Girt, NJ), Kevin Morello (Monroe, NJ), Jeffrey Scimone (Boxford, MA) and Mikhail Astakhov (Moscow, RU).

On Friday, 12/19 the Wolves will begin a 3 day-3 game road trip before taking a break for the Holidays.  Congrats to Wolves Players Dillon Smith (Madison, NH), Kevin Morello (Monroe, NJ) and Hunter Craig (Limerick, ME) for being selected to the MJHL All- Star Game.
