The New England Wolves MJHL, battling for 1st place in the tightly contested Francis Division of the MJHL finished 2014 with a 3-1 win versus the Hartford JR Wolfpack.

The 3-1 win was highlighted by outstanding performances from key players.  Captain Dillon Smith (Madison, NH) and leading scorer Kevin Morello (Monroe, NJ) each had a goal and an assist in the effort. Smith’s goal was his 23rd of the season, which is good for 7th best in the 23 team Metropolitan Junior Hockey League.  Goaltender Zach Skop (Milford, NJ) also shined, stopping 43 of the 44 shots he faced.  Role players such as Jeff Scimone (Boxford, MA) and Sam Mayberry (Colorado Springs, CO) also made key contributions, in particular, blocking shots and on the penalty kill.

The win allowed the Wolves to stay in 2nd place, ahead of the New Hampshire JR Monarchs and Northern Cyclones, and set the table for an exciting 2 game weekend after the New Year when Division Leader Vermont travels to the Laconia Ice Arena on January 10 (4:15pm) and 11 (9am).

The New England Wolves Organization would like to thank all their fans, billet families, the Laconia Ice Arena staff, sponsors and volunteers (such as Tim Muller, Joe Grasso, Brandon Combs, and Chuck Taylor) for helping to make this inaugural season a success.
