The NE WOLVES Independent team have played well during the last two weeks including a close loss and a tie against the Walpole Express EHL Team, and two game sweep of Ulysse Prep, in Waterville Valley.

The first of the four games was a 6-4 loss to a very strong Walpole Express team that is currently in first place in the Boston Division of the EHL. Matt Toombs, Evan Ferraro, Cody Weaver, and Anthony D’alessandro scored for The Wolves and Joe Flanagan joined the scoring with three helpers.

The second game of this home and home series was held at Plymouth State University.  The game was tightly contested and Wolves goaltender Rob LaBonte held the Express to just one goal through 55 minutes of regulation and 5 minutes of overtime. The Wolves lone goal was a beauty as Joe Flanagan and Evan Ferraro beat a Walpole defenseman on a two on one and Ferraro found the net. The Wolves, however, managed just one goal and the game ended in a 1-1 through overtime before losing in the shoot-out round.

Six different players contributed goals over the weekend as The Wolves took down Ulysse Prep 3-2 and 3-1. The Wolves outshot Ulysse and controlled most of the game but as expected Ulysse Prep hung tough and battled until the end. The Wolves outshot Ulysse 65-33 on the weekend.
