The New England Wolves rebounded from Saturday nights defeat at the hands of the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs with a decisive 6-2 win over the 2014 MJHL Champion Boston Bandits on Sunday afternoon in Bridgewater, MA.

Sunday’s 6-2 victory was paced by two of the league youngest players, Laconia’s Bryce Ricker and Moscow, Russia native Mikhail Astakhov.   The 1998 birth year players tallied 2 goals each.  Steadied on their forward line by MJHL All- Star Kevin Morello (who recorded 1 goal and 3 assists himself), the trio played with terrific chemistry and discipline throughout the effort.  “Coach Potenza and I tried mixing up our combinations and lines to jump start our offense on Sunday and it worked.  Getting statistical contributions from our youngest players says a lot about their development and the health of the program,” commented Wolves Coach Andrew Trimble.

Additionally, Wolves Captain Dillon Smith played his first full game on Defense, due to the illness of other defenders and the injury to Will Francis, and recorded a multi- assist game.  6’4” 1994 birth year defender Hunter Craig also scored.  Netminder Harley Eliason made several key saves, including a cross crease pad save mid-way through the 2nd period that preserved the lead for his teammates.  Towards the latter portion of the 3rd period, penalties became an issue including a game ejection for the Bandits coach, and the Wolves displayed tremendous discipline.

The Wolves return to action next weekend (February 14th & 15th) with games in Hackensack, NJ as part of the MJHL’s final league showcase.  They will be taking on the Philadelphia Revolution and the Wilkes- Barre/ Scranton Knights.  Both are Southern Division teams.
