Wolves captain Nick Marin scored 2 goals in regulation and added another in the shootout to lead the home team to the 4-3 shootout win over a strong Walpole Express club Saturday afternoon at Waterville Valley Ice Arena. 

The game was a high tempo hard hitting affair that wasn’t decided until the shootout after Walpole tied the game at 3 with the extra attacker on and 12 seconds left in regulation, and the two teams battled through a scoreless overtime period.  Brian Cameron also scored for the Wolves while Ryan Dunn, Christian La Croix and Collin Malone picked up assists.  Marin tied the game 1-1 at 12:49 of the first when Ryan Dunn skated freely behind the net and found Marin in the slot.  Marin fired a quick release wrist shot home before Walpole goalie Evan McCarthy could react. 

Marin would strike again at 15:49 when he intercepted an errant Express pass and promptly tucked in a nifty deke.  Walpole would tie the game at 5:33 of the second but Brian Cameron answered just over a minute later at 6:47 when he snapped one home through a screen off a faceoff pass from Malone.  Eric Bogart was outstanding throughout for the Wolves stopping 32 shots, including several scintillating saves down the stretch, and stopping the final Walpole shooter in the shootout to give his club the win. 

Christian La Croix, Nick Marin and Clay Plyler all scored for the Wolves in the shootout.
