Recently the Wolves caught up with Herberts Zeibots, a 2000 Forward from Latvia who was an integral part of the 2018-19 Wolves EHLP Championship team, and one of the All Time Leading Scorers in EHL Premier History.
"I studied at Latvian Academy Of Sport Education. Where I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Sports Science of senior coach (hockey) and sports management. While I was studying I also played hockey in my home country, representing HK Kurbads organization, where we won two championships in two different leagues Latvia 2 and Estonia. " said Zeibots.
During his time with the Wolves, Zeibots was a critical piece to the Wolves success. His emergence as a game breaking offensive player helped the Wolves to over 60 wins in 2 seasons, including one championship run in 2018-19. Zeibots commented, "I had a great experience during those two years. New England Wolves is a great organization where the focus is on players development and helping each hockey player get the most out of him. They help players to be ready for University hockey and also Pro hockey. In the Wolves program, I liked the professionalism in training process, we had 10 ice sessions + games per week, gym, videos sessions and much more to develop not only hockey-specific skills, but also to strengthen physically and mentally. Representing the Wolves program and playing in the EHL gave me more confidence in my abilities going forward in my career."
This summer Zeibots is coaching with Coach Trimble at his Scoring Concepts Summer Camps, and will be joining the Wolves during the early part of the season assisting their Junior teams. "EHL is a great league where every player can grow as a better hockey player and get one step closer to University hockey. The league not only offers physical hockey but also technical hockey. I played with and against great players who are now current University players or Pro players in Europe or USA. " said Zeibots, who has seen several of his fellow countrymen including the Marcinkevics brothers, Ricards Jelenskis, Domeniks Domokejevs, and many others come through the Wolves program and the EHL/EHLP.
"My advice for young players who are representing Wolves team - Be a great teammate and make the players better around you. Enjoy every moment, work hard, compete and good things will happen." Zeibots said.
Congratulations Herberts on all your success and keep up the strong work!
