The New England Wolves are proud to announce the commitment of Jack Bortle to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts for the Fall of 2023.  Bortle is a 2002 birth year winger from Ohio in his second year with the Wolves Program.

The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) formerly known as North Adams State College (NASC)[4] is a public liberal arts college in North Adams, Massachusetts. It is part of the state university system of Massachusetts.[5] It is a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges and was established in 1894.

GM Andrew Trimble commented, "Jack is a player who has battled through injuries the past two seasons, but in doing so has stayed committed to his goals while within the program.   He was a key member of the team last year that made a run to the frozen finals, and adds a tremendous amount to the locker room and culture.  I’m proud of him and all of his hard work to achieve his goal of playing college hockey next year at MCLA for Coach Ketts."

MCLA is set to begin their Varsity Hockey program in the 23-24 MASCAC season after a nearly 20 year hiatus.  Previously, when they were known as North Adams State, they enjoyed a rich history.  In fact, current Detroit Red Wings Coach Derek Lalonde, began his coaching career at North Adams State as an assistant during their previous NCAA hockey run.

Congrats Jack and good luck with the Mountain Lions!
