The New England Wolves are pleased to announce the commitment of goaltender LJ Newell to Rivier University for the Fall of 2021.

Rivier University, formerly Rivier College, is a private Catholic liberal arts university in Nashua, New Hampshire. Rivier is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc.. Nursing programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. The institution is also regulated by the New Hampshire Department of Education.

Rivier begins its inaugural season of NCAA hockey in the Fall of 2021.  Coach Eric Sorensen is the Head Coach, and he commented on Newell's commitment.  "We are extremely excited to have LJ’s commitment to join the Rivier Raider community. Throughout the recruitment process, he has made it clear that he is an extraordinarily intelligent, hard working and committed individual on and off the ice. It is that type of work ethic that I believe will translate tremendously to both our inaugural men’s ice hockey team next fall, and in the classroom where he will be joining one of the top nursing programs in both New England, and the country. He is coming from a tremendous program in the Wolves, that has put together a regimented daily schedule that truly helps prepare student athletes for the next level both academically and athletically and we are excited to have him here next fall."

Newell, a two year netminder for the Wolves EHL team and a native of Colorado Springs, CO currently ranks as one of the top goaltenders in the EHL with 6 wins on the season, a .909 save percentage, and 1 shutout.  Congrats LJ!!
