Wolves Update- Ryan Fueg

Suffern, NY native Ryan Fueg spent two years with the program from 2018-2020.   One of the strongest academic players in the Wolves program, and the backbone in nets for the 2018-19 EHLP Championship team, Fueg made the jump from the EHLP to the EHL team in 2019-20 before making a commitment to play college hockey for NYU this season.  New York University is one of Americas elite academic institutions, currently ranked #30 in the US Best Colleges ranking (New York University (NYU) - Profile, Rankings and Data | US News Best Colleges).

Fueg's freshman year and COVID has brought on some challenges.  "Unfortunately, NYU cancelled all sports this year so I did not have a season".   Yet, given Fueg's strong academics he hasn't regretted the decision.  "I’m majoring in Sports Management and the program is fantastic. They’re committed to giving every opportunity possible to their students to understand just how impactful the world of sports is and what can be accomplished with sports. "

Ryan's hometown and upbringing has played a big part in his easy adjustment to college life. "I did not live on campus, as I was given the option and it made sense for me to stay home and do remote learning. Remote learning was different, but I personally enjoyed that experience. I felt as though it didn’t hinder my academics in any way, but rather it helped it. "

Certainly living in the huge metropolis of New York City could have created issues with the ongoing pandemic, but instead the exposure to people from all of the world in the top of their field has opened up doors for him, " I was able to be introduced to multiple experts in the field, such as members of player agencies and higher up offices in professional sports leagues".

The Wolves wish Alumni Ryan Fueg tremendous success in his second semester at NYU and continued growth in his chosen field.  We know you are gonna do well.  GO WOLVES!
