Alumni Update- Andre Gulbrandsen

Following up with the 1999 birth year Norwegian forward Andre Gulbrandsen.  Andre was a standout player on the 2017-18  EHL Wolves playoff team where he recorded 24 points on the season playing much of the year with 2 year captain DJ Schwenke and SUNY- Canton Forward Matt Needleman.

Andre came to the Wolves via Ontario Hockey Academy which has been a great pipeline for the Wolves and provided them standouts such as Aleck Forcier, Adam Barnes, Jack Musil, Sam Russell, Julius Kvandal and others.  Prior to arriving in Laconia, in 2016-17 Gulbrandsen was selected and represented his native Norway at the U18 World Junior Championships.

Now removed from Junior Hockey, Andre is adjusting to life back in Norway and pursuing a professional hockey career, "Playing 1st division in Norway for a new team out west. Starting as second center ... So I’m liking it a lot so far!" said Gulbrandsen.

Playing for the Haugesund Seagulls, Gulbrandsen has recorded a point so far on the season in his two games played to date.

"Andre was an integral part of the 2017-18 Wolves and really fit the mold of what we were looking to do that season, as we wanted to become younger and more skilled." said GM Andrew Trimble

Gulbrandsen commented, "In my time with the Wolves it felt like I got a second family, being a part of that team is something I'll always cherish."    Gulbrandsen lived with the Mull Family during his time with the Wolves and roomed with another SUNY Canton commit, Roger Powers.  "The structure of the practices and league made me a more mature player that really prepared me... The love I got from my billet family is still something I carry with me everyday." Gulbransen said.

The Wolves wish Andre continued success, and thank him for his tremendous contributions to the Wolves program.  Once a Wolf always a Wolf!!!
